Our DAE File Viewer opens .dae files in your browser so you can preview the 3D model on your device. DAE files often come from older COLLADA exports, model libraries, SketchUp projects, and Blender workflows.

The files stay local. PrintNexus does not upload or store them, and you do not need an account.

Need to view a different 3D file type? Try the Free GLTF Viewer, the Free GLB File Viewer, or the Free OBJ Viewer.

How to view a DAE file online

  1. Upload the .dae file into the viewer at the top of this page.
  2. Select any texture image files that came with it.
  3. Wait while the browser opens the model.
  4. Drag to rotate and scroll to zoom.

What is a DAE file?

DAE is the file extension for COLLADA, an older 3D exchange format used to move models between design and animation programs. It is still common in older model downloads and export folders.

A DAE file can describe the model structure and may reference image files for textures. Those texture paths can matter when you preview the file outside the app that created it.

When to use this viewer

Use this viewer when you have a DAE file and want a simple browser preview before opening another 3D app. It is useful when you want to check an older model folder quickly.

For final material checks, edits, conversion, or publishing, open the same file in the app that will use it.

Viewer limitations

DAE files can read differently from one app to another. Texture paths may break when the file is moved, and older exports may carry settings that a browser preview does not show the same way.

Use this page for a quick visual check, then test the same DAE in your modeling, conversion, or publishing tool.
